Sergeant
F E Morling
Mentioned in Despatches
29/11/1945
No. 6401438 Sergeant F E Morling, (Seaford)
This N.C.O. carried out a high standard of work in 1939 and early part of 1940 as Pioneer Sergeant in training his men. On the weekend 18/20 May 1940 this N.C.O. showed the greatest coolness under battle bombing and shell fire and set a fine example. On 20 May when the Battalion was attacked he showed great courage and even after being taken prisoner, he succeeded in escaping almost at once but was overtaken by an armoured car 24 hours later.
For the excellent example set by this N.C.O. at all times and for his courage
and devotion to duty, I recommend that he be Mentioned in Despatches.
